Anne Caruthers, President

In the summer of her eleventh birthday, Anne organized her first charity "event". It was a choreographed water show, performed with neighborhood friends in her family's backyard pool, to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. As she progressed through her teenage years, she continued organizing and performing in charity events to raise money for different causes. As an adult, seeing those she loved struggle with different critical illnesses and watching as people around the world suffered during natural disasters spurred her desire to contribute in some way.
Her wide range of performance skills has allowed her to work with the Pink Ribbons Project and the Bere'sheet Ballet Company, and in support of a variety of organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Oxfam America, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Lighthouse Houston and the Alzheimer's Association. A highly-developed business acumen has enabled her to successfully run her own businesses in both culinary and performing arts, eventually leading to the culmination of combining those skillsets and the formalization of Dance From the Heart as a non-profit organization.
She believes strongly in diversity, in finding the common ground we all share as human beings and expressing those ideals through the most emotive mediums in her artistic toolbox: music and dance.
